Should the D.A. whose charging Britney Spears for driving without a CA license be fired? ?

Look, I’m not a fan Ms. Spears. I never bought any of her albums, and I never listened to her music. I think the woman’s a train-wreck. But when my wife read me the story of how the D.A. of CA is pursing her for not acquiring a CA license I was disgusted at the D.A. for wasting the courts, and jurors time on such a foolish issue. Her homestead is in LA. But even if it weren’t, it should be ones individual decision on where to call their home. How much did this “trial” cost? 10 trillion dollars in debt, and the gov’t spends our money on this? WTF? This is worse than the $640 toilet seat!
Yes, I agree he is doing his job. But his job also includes filtering out foolishness such as this. This is the part of his job that he needs to be fired for. For making the call to allow this to go through.

Well, it may be an individual’s decision where he calls home, but it is NOT anybody’s individual decision as to their legal residence–that is, as the term legal indicates, a matter of law. If Ms. Spears is legally a resident of California, which is the prosecutor’s claim, then she is required to have a California drivers license, just like every other California resident.

I am not in favor of celebrities getting treated any better, or any worse, than anybody else, and LOTS of people are prosecuted for driving without a California license when they are legally required to have such a license.
